Symbolically, the womb is a microcosm of the universe. Vast, expansive, a fertile void holding infinite creative potential. The darkness from which life emerges, where the unseen is nurtured before being birthed into physical form.
The womb is a portal between worlds. A place of birth and creation, and a gateway into the feminine mysteries.
For a large part of my life, I have been exploring these mysteries in an embodied way. Through the feminine path of descent, through the womb, through the opening of life force and deepening relationship with sensations, frequency and vibration.
There is a journey inward that takes us beyond the surface of who we believe ourselves to be. A journey through the portals of the womb and her gate keys that open her to her depths.
These gate keys that are the notes of soul essence, that when embodied and vibrated open her portals with trust, gratitude, devotion, innocence, longing, surrender and ecstasy.
In her depths is the dark light. Not a darkness of absence, but a fertile ecstatic primordial darkness alive with possibility. The place where birth and death meet, where form dissolves and new life begins. A place of infinite depth that connects us energetically with the womb of the earth and the cosmic womb, with the great cycles of creation and return.
There is a visceral, embodied dimension to the feminine that cannot be understood through the mind alone. A deep inner connectedness, a sense of being grounded in the body and centred within the womb. A pulsing aliveness, a movement of life force that can open into ecstatic waves of energy.
Opening to this place brings a feeling of being deeply grounded in self, while connected to the power of the feminine life force in all her forms and expressions. There is an infinite depth to this opening, vast and endless, and a feeling of empowered surrender.
In this place, the heart opens. The body becomes a place of listening. Something ancient and emergent, begins to speak through sensation, feeling, sound and the authentic expression of our being.
There is a sense of coming home.
I have never felt that the feminine needs to be awakened but only remembered. She has never gone anywhere. Her full force, love and creative power have always been present.
This mystery, that I used to share in workshops and retreats, continues to live within my art.
Womb Portal emerged from this lifelong relationship with the feminine mysteries, with the fertile void and the ecstatic essence held within her depths.
Through colour, texture and form, the painting becomes another expression of the mystery meeting matter.
For me, the feminine mysteries are not a place we ever fully arrive, but an endless invitation to enter more deeply into the embodiment of life.
